Class of Change

Taking these photos for a project at Communities In Schools of Nevada, an extremely effective dropout prevention program, was such a great experience. Sharing a few moments with each of these promising students who live and go to school in some of the most challenged communities in the country (and getting them to laugh or do something goofy) is truly a privilege. I literally break into a big smile every time I look at these faces.

This looks like hope to me.

Home for Spring Training

Cleveland Indians catcher and Scottsdale native, Lou Marson, heads back to the spring training field.  He trains hard, plays harder and generally enjoys life on and off the field. He’s accomplished a lot at age 26, but still has one or two wild dreams up his sleeve.  Click on the picture to read the story.

Ladies – Need Some Inspiration? Here you go.

For many women, health issues can be an impossible challenge to overcome.  Whether it’s adopting a healthy lifestyle that allows us to lose weight, gain strength and reinvigorate ourselves with the energy to look at our lives and say, “what do I really want to do?” or overcoming a debilitating health challenge – where do we get the reserves and resources to come out ahead?

I was fortunate enough to be able to talk with two incredibly inspiring women who have found their path in life and are incredibly passionate about what they do. I could have talked with each of them all day long – they are both really attuned to supporting other women and building networks and resources to help others.

Take a minute to read their stories – hopefully they will give you a little push to take a little more time for yourself and your health.  Click on the photos to read the stories.

Why I Must Watch HGTV Design Star

Well, I would have watched it anyway…HGTV, DIY, Bravo, Food Network…my not-so-secret addictions. So, after having had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Design Star finalist, Britany Simon, there’s no way I will miss an episode.

A big part of what makes these reality competition shows so much fun is feeling that you are getting to know each of the contestants – the ones you love and the ones you love to hate.  You stress out with them, laugh with them, cry with them and share in their victories each week.  So, here’s your chance to get to know a little more about this Scottsdale native and what she brings to the mix.  Click on the cover to read the story.

I know who I’m cheering for every Tuesday night.

All That Glitters…is in Scottsdale

Are you in the mood for a bit of bling?  Wouldn’t you want it to be one-of-a-kind – made just for you?  Scottsdale jewelry designer, Jacqueline Nerguizian, specializes in amazing custom jewelry that has caught the eye of celebrities like Sofia Vergara, Sandra Bullock, Bret Michaels and Jennifer Lopez.  She’s busy not only designing incredible pieces, but raising five kids, flying out to personally meet with clients and appearing on shows like Access Hollywood and Extra! to give her thoughts on jewelry trends and what the stars are wearing right this minute.

Upbeat and energized, she told me what’s hot this season, how she finds her inspiration and how she balances a busy family life with the work she loves so much.  Click on the picture to read the story.

Batter Up! Arizona Diamondbacks’ Paul Goldschmidt
